*** I’m currently taking 1 MONTH off instagram. ***

  1. Was I afraid to do it? YES.
  2. Did I fear it would affect my business in some way? YES
  3. Did I fear people would judge me + make up narratives about me for doing it? YES.

AND, I know that taking intentional breaks from certain things are important to keep me present, aligned within myself and energized for YOU + this beautiful community.

>>> It’s been enlightening to reflect on the deeper feelings / thoughts that drive part of the relationship I’ve had with instagram.

What I’ve come to learn is that recently, much of the unconscious scrolling I did when I was NOT posting content, stemmed from curiosity and also a desire to feel more connected + accepted in that moment… because I didn’t feel whole or connected within myself…

And more interesting, was coming terms with the truth that certain posts I made were driven by fear of being forgotten – or – important information about my offerings being missed by people who could’ve used the service…

>>> Both reflections stemmed from fear and doubt, not love and trust.

And then I remembered to bring my attention to my breath + body… and I remembered my wholeness and felt the deep sense of connection, support and ease always experienced in the present moment.

Oh to be human… 🙃

I share these reflections with you to remind you / highlight that we are literally biologically wired for survival. Most of our thoughts are based in fear to motivate us to do things to stay alive. The catch is, our brain / body doesn’t differentiate between what’s a perception of a threat (thoughts about a negative possibility) and what’s a literal threat (life or death situation before us).

So, we often get swept up into the fast pace of doing because that’s how “life has always been”, or what we’ve observed around us, or what we’ve come to believe is expected from us.

>>> Taking time to pause + observe, is something I share in all my offerings – AND especially – that I explore with my 1-on-1 clients in my RECALIBRATE Method Program.

*** True self-care and self-love is being radically honest with ourselves and taking responsibility for our actions and present life. ***

The real “practice” or “work” is curiously observing our thoughts, behaviours and actions in the moment, and then —-> bravely processing, releasing and changing whatever is no longer of value or productive to our desired daily life experience.

I am not true to my word or work, if I don’t take breaks and reevaluate my routines + patterns too.

So this vulnerable share – is an invitation for YOU to join me:

  1. take break from IG or another social media platform that you find yourself deeply enmeshed with – or a pattern that is both a tool AND a crutch for you (ex: late night snacking). Try it for a day or a weekend or even a week.
  2. notice what comes up when you step back from it.

Be open and curious.

  • what do you discover?
  • what thoughts or beliefs are driving some of your actions / choices?
  • what is between you and true presence?

And notice what comes through for you.

Remember:

  • Presence is safe
  • You are here for greatness and full expression
  • Seeing the truth beneath some of your patterns / crutches can be uncomfortable and triggering. AND, you CAN handle it and feel your way through. —-> If you need support with this email me :)
  • YOU are worth your own attention
  • ALL feelings / emotions are temporary. And ALL carry amazing wisdom that supports how you choose to show up in your life now, and in the future.

So, take the pause. Choose to grow, evolve, transform and keep showing up for YOU. You’ve got 1 life in this human body in this moment, take the time to enjoy it… because the present moment is the only moment there truly is
